This page explains, in plain words, what information NeduHub keeps, why we keep it, where it is stored and who can see it. It covers this website and the NeduHub Result Portal. If anything is unclear, contact us.
Who we are
NeduHub builds result portals, school software and websites. You can reach us by email at hello@neduhub.com or by phone on 0907 694 2700.
Schools are in charge of their students' data
When a school uses the Result Portal, the school decides what student information goes in and what it is used for. Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, the school is the data controller and NeduHub processes the data on the school's behalf. We use it only to run the portal for that school, never for our own purposes.
Parents and students with questions about their records should speak to their school first. You can also contact us and we will pass your request to the school.
What the Result Portal keeps
- Students: name, admission number, class, status (for example, transferred), scores, grades, positions, behaviour and skills ratings, and teacher and head remarks.
- Staff: name, email address, phone number (if given), role, and the classes and subjects they teach.
- School: name, address, logo, motto, sessions, terms and term dates.
- A change record: who changed scores, remarks, student records and staff accounts, and when; and which staff downloaded report cards.
- Result PIN checks: to stop people guessing PINs, we record failed attempts with a random number stored on the device and a scrambled (hashed) form of the internet address. PINs themselves are stored only in scrambled form; the school receives the printed PIN once.
We do not collect students' home addresses, phone numbers, photos or health information.
What this website keeps
- Contact form: what you type (name, organisation, phone, email, role, services and message) is sent to us by Formspree, a form service based outside Nigeria, and arrives in our email inbox. We use it only to reply to you.
- Your browser: the site remembers your light or dark choice on your device. Staff sign-in keeps a login token on the device, and an opened result keeps a short session token until the browser tab is closed or two hours pass.
- We do not use advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell or share information for marketing.
Where the information is stored
The Result Portal's database and staff logins are run by Supabase, and this website is hosted by Vercel. Their servers are outside Nigeria, so information is transferred abroad when you use our services. We chose providers that protect data with encryption and access controls.
Who can see what
- Teachers see only the classes and subjects they are assigned to.
- Principals and heads see the classes at their level, and approve and publish results.
- Parents see one student's published result for one term, and only with that term's PIN.
- NeduHub sets up each school and gives support, so our administrator can see the school's records. We look only when needed to set up, fix or support the school's portal.
Each school's records are kept separate from every other school's, and these limits are enforced by the database itself, not just hidden on the screen.
How long we keep it
We keep a school's records while the school uses the portal, so that past results stay available. Students who leave are marked as left; their earlier results are kept for the school. When a school stops using the portal, we turn its account off. If the school asks, we give it a copy of its records and then delete them.
Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask to see the information held about you or your child, ask for mistakes to be corrected, and in some cases ask for it to be deleted. Ask your school, or contact us and we will work with the school to respond. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Schools using the portal will be told about important changes.
